I have been smoking Benson & Hedges since 1981 and now would not smoke anything else! I remember when PM offered promotional products, they were very impressive to say the least, of great quality. I can remember them offering coupons also. All of a sudden their prices increased, the promotions stopped and their coupons became non-existent. I wondered why so I called PM to inquire. Their representative didn't want to give me any real explaination but I got the feeling from her that maybe, just maybe, she was trying to tell me not to smoke them anymore. I personally wonder if she knew something that we all didn't. Are Benson & Hedges worse for us than most other cigarettes? I know alot of people smoke Marlboro's and to this day I still receive coupons for them. You would think because they are so much more expensive they would offer us something to keep buying them... unless.... hmmm. Oh well, I still smoke them and will continue. I have tried others but nothing compares for me.

My grandpa used to smoke the originals -- Special Filter -- none of this bloody Classic or whatever they call the top o dha line now. This rating is for Special Filter, which arent sold in Australia anymore and have been replaced by the lesser "Classic..."Let me tell you a story. On my way home, needing some cigs. I cant get to sleep without a cig so I drive around wanting to find a tobacconist to by my sticks cause it's way more nostalgic than being served by Apu at a service station. I find one, in the dingiest shithole in Sydney -- Bankstown. Im in the deepest, darkest pits of hell, where "mediterranean" men will shank you cause you are a whitey. I find a trusty tobacconist, a place where the owner tried to short change me the shonky piece of human excrement that he is. Anyway, on this nite, a lesser human was at the counter, the filthiest of filth, unworthy to be called a human and less worthy to be called regurgiated fecal material. I contemplate running, leaving my car idling on the curb but soon realise that a sleepless nite is worse than running for your dear life. Maybe. I dunno. Let's just say I never wanna find out...Anyway, this lowlife, scum of the Western Suburbs takes my order "Benson and Hedges, Special Filter, 20's Hard pack" I quip, glimpsing at the ape at my side who pulls out a roll of thousands of dollars out of his pocket to pay for several cartons of cigarettes and other undisclosed depts...He hands me the pack and without a thought says "Good strong cigarette. Strong. Men cigarette..."At that point, while feeling remotely masculine, I silently shit my pants and slid out of the door, getting in my car, gunning the D16A8 to 7200rpm redline while sobbing into my B&H Special Filters. Since they no longer sell them in Australia, I feel I no longer have to risk my life. Hence my newfound pleasure, rolling tobacco, especially those from Dowe Egberts, the Glorious Drum Original and equally pleasurable White Ox.I rate B&H Special Filter 5 stars cause my grandfather would have killed that man at the tobacconist cause he smoked "Good strong cigarette. Strong. Men cigarette..." No shit.

I went through a menthol phase and smoked about a pack of these a day for 2 months. They were the best menthols I ever smoked but I hated the fact that they were in a soft pack. They're very expensive where I live so I'm hesitant to say that they're worth the price.
Phillip151 01/03/2009
All I can say is that I smoked these for one month, their decent but I wouldn't continue smoking them. I preffer Belmonts.
LoniPuffs 10/16/2008
i had an aunt that smoked these when i was a teen, i have smoked them on and off over the years. if they were not so hard to find i would probably smoke them more often.
chiquita222 08/05/2008
Benson & Hedges menthol light is my cigarette of choice. However they cost an average of 60 cents more a pack than Marlboro and you Never find a "deal" on them. WHY??? I can no longer afford to buy Benson & Hedges.
jjb4555 06/15/2008
one of my best tasting Cigarettes ever i have only tried Marlboro Lights Mayfair and when i moved on to Benson Hedges Gold it was really nice and refreshing taste but it finishes quicker then most Cigarettes i know would really like to try Marlboro Red.

Benson & Hedges full flavors are my favorite cigarettes out there. They're smooth as hell yet leave you decently satisfied. They don't take forever to burn, but don't burn nearly as fast as a parlie. The taste and smell is simply top notch, nice and rich. A cup of black coffee and a pack of B&H Premium Filter 100s is a match made in heaven. Definitely worth the extra dollar or two in my opinion. If I could chose one brand of cigarette for the rest of my life, this would be it, hands down.
eShrooms 06/03/2008
These are really disgusting Cigarettes. I tried the lights because they had a carton of them on sale for $10. The taste is terrible, and there is not much of a buzz at all. Stay away from these cigarettes, that's all I can say.
meanone 04/18/2008
B&H are pretty good. the non menthols. i tryed them when i bumbed one. really smooth. but very good rich smoke

Benson & Hedges Menthols are the best cigarettes I have ever smoked! Taking a deep drag and inhale off a B & H menthol is pure pleasure. I smoke these carton after carton. These cigarettes have a superb menthol flavor that really delivers. I do enjoy an occasional pack of Salem 100's or a pack of Marlboro Menthol 100's. But make no mistake-- Benson & Hedges Menthol are the absolute bomb! I have smoked Benson & Hedges Menthols for about 15 years now and look forward to another 15 years of my favorite cigarette.
Luiso22 03/25/2008
Great smooth taste. Not too strong.
Eboo 11/20/2007
B&H and Kent are similar. Kent has a smoother taste while B&H is quite robust but easy oon the inhale
hugsy 11/12/2007
These are smooth on the throat. My buddies smoke these and introduced me to them. I have bought a couple packs since on days I just wanted to reminisce. I am not a menthol smoker so here I am referring to the regulars and ultralights. I have had the B&H and I thought it was still buzz worthy, but a bit damp compared to MB lights, for either the regular and ultralight B&H. Not my choice but not horrible. I would say a decent smoke.

Originally a British brand; in the USA it’s made by PM from domestic tobacco. Inasmuch as Parliament is a step up from Marlboro, these are a step up from Parliament; smoother and more strongly flavored than either. Straightforward tobacco taste with an almost wine-like light sweetness. Full flavored, but not rich like Camel or Pall Mall; PM’s style leans toward a cleaner and crisper taste. Only comes as filtered 100’s, possibly for that reason it seems to last somewhat longer than other PM brands; still not in the Pall Mall league however. Classy box and white filter make it a good choice for any occasion that calls for a tie. Not cheap, but the style is all one could want and the flavor is up there with Chesterfield and Marlboro Blend 27 among PM’s best.
krassshaw 05/18/2007
After reading this i decided to try them and WOW was i ever impressed, very smooth, i went out and bought 2 more packs (i chain smoke)

My favorite cigarette to smoke (Menthol Lights 100 & Menthol Full-Flavor)been smoking it for about a year now, It's the only cigarette I buy.
local420 09/06/2006
A good cigarette, but very strong. not a very good starter. I have been smoking these for a couple weeks now and they have a good taste and a good swallow.
MikeShempbo 10/24/2005
Bummed these off my prof one day (Ultralight Menthol) and damn they were good. Sadly only fullstrength does it for me now but I still buy a hard pack of Ultralight Menthols and relive shooting the breeze with my prof. Good times. *Update Forgot how great all the flavors were. Nudged them up. Plus the timeless nostalgia.
sirshacky 08/11/2005
These are pretty good. A little light on the flavor, but nice and consistent. Good burn, smooth, and seem to last a long time. I've cut back to only 5 or 6 smokes a day, meaning a pack will usually last me four days or so, and these keep very well. Basically a Marlboro in fancy packaging. My friends grandma used to smoke these (and we used to steal 'em), so they feel a little bit feminine, but I still like them.
Mr.Political 03/31/2005
They give a smooth, crisp taste that is not at all abrasive but if your looking for something strong you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, B&H's are the way to go...
Skizero 02/03/2005
smoked these when i was listening to a lot of OASIS.
cooljay_1978 01/24/2005
I've smoked both flavors of Benson and Hedges. Needless to say, both flavors taste great, especially the Benson and Hedges full-flavored menthols. These menthols have a big menthol taste if you prefer your cigarettes in a soft pack. I hear some B&H Menthol smokers think they taste like the Salems from the 70's and 80's. I can't agree or disagree since I wasn't smoking in those decades. The B&H full flavored regulars are rich and smooth. Some call them a stronger version of a Marlboro Light. Well, to me, they taste more like an all-white version of a Marlboro Red 100. The B&H Golds make a nice alternative to Reds. And if you're a menthol fan who prefers tasting more of the menthol than the tobacco (while taking puffs on your smoke), then B&H Menthols are the brand for you. Both flavors of Benson and Hedges are two of the best-tasting cigarettes.

Bensons 100's are extremely smooth cigarettes. Great taste and they don't hurt your throat at all. The gold package is also one of the coolest I have ever seen. I haven't tried the menthols but I heard they are equally good.
jazzybee 10/23/2004
The sophisticated smoker's cigarette. Beautiful packaging, almost looks like metal. Very nice crush proof flip-top box. Good in both full flavor and menthol. No need for packing, this smoke is very satisfying and doesn't burn too quick. I rate it 5 out of 5 drags.
Bird808 09/07/2004
These are really popular in England simply as they have no filter so your basically putting your mouth over an exhaust pipe. They were too strong during my smoking days, the only time I smoked these is when someone gave me one.
tjr 04/12/2004
I enjoy smoking Benson & Hedges menthols. These are the best cigarettes. The menthol is smooth and flavorful. I have tried several other brands and I always go back to Benson & Hedges menthols. I highly recomend Benson & Hedges menthols. Try 'em-- you'll like 'em.
stephentrendy 12/08/2003
These are great cigarettes, especially the ultra lights. The box may throw some off, but the taste is good. They aren't too strong, but not like breathing either.
kolby1973 10/24/2003
These cigarettes are too prissy, have no flavor, and are way overpriced and overrated. I do not recommend them. ALSO- Benson and Hedges is a Phillip Morris Company...stay clear of their deceptions..
Rachel100 02/02/2003
I smoked marlboro 100s for a long time, then when i hit college, i tried benson and hedges 100s. Alot of people don't like them, but they are the perfect taste for me. Strong, smooth, unique flavor, pretty pack that always accessorizes nicely, all i ever wanted from a cigarette.
bugs bunny 01/07/2003
Full Flavors are ok hard to find kings in USA lights are blander tha Mar. Lights though
blythe 01/01/2003
These are good cigs...the box is awesome. If you like Menthol cigarettes but not the really strong menthol flavor, you should try these. The ultra light menthol are good for ultra lights and great if you have a cold. I like the regular light 100's okay, but not my favorite light cigs. I smoke Marlboro Lights 100's, but if I'm in the mood for menthol and have a few extra bucks to spend I don't mind to buy the ultra lights or lights menthols.

Benson & Hedges suck, are you kidding? They'll turn your teeth and fingers yellow!
Bert 12/11/2000
These are good cigarettes. They seem to be the same as Marlboro Menthol Lights. They go down smooth and don't taste bad. They only negative about this cigarette is you can't smoke it too much or you get a sick feeling in your stomach.
nelz 12/10/2000
For those of us who always say I'm going to quit oneday, and in their heart they KNOW they can't, well, there is one cigarette that can help people really quit, and that cigarette is Benson & Hedges.
question19 11/03/2000
I've been smoking for a couple of years and I've always enjoyed smoking Benson and Hedges. These are the smoothest cigarettes. It doesn't scratch your throat, nor can you really taste the nicotine. The menthol flavor gives it a minty flavor as well.
curly 11/02/2000
These cigarettes are good and seem more classy to smoke. It doesn't have a strong effect, but it is a menthol so it's okay.
