They're the best menthol smokes out there. The menthol flavor works together with the tobacco flavor instead of against it. They're smooth and have a good, unique smell and taste. Still, I can only smoke menthols when I'm in the mood for one or have to bum one off a friend. Otherwise, I'll stick with my Luckies, thanks.

People are stupid. For the last time there is absolutely NO fiberglass in Newports. Even if there was fiberglass you would have to ingest it to be harmed.


The first time I tried Newports I almost gagged at the ultra unique menthol taste. As I matured and experienced more brands I eventually came back to Newport with a deeper appreciation for it's taste and buzz. The difference between Newport and other mediocre menthols like Marlboro menthol/smooths, Kools, and Doral is the menthol taste of Newports is perfectly balanced allowing the tobacco taste to still come through. If you want a high quality unique tasting cigarette look no further than Newports. Usually you find Newport smokers are older veteran smokers and the only thing that goes against them is the high price.

Not only is this cigarette the king of menthols and the oldest American tobacco brand still in existence but it is also the number two top selling cigarette so obviously it is doing something very right.

Newport menthols are pretty good they rock. Mainly, when you take the first hit the first hit is the best because thats when you get the menthol full taste. the second best part is you can breath. If you have ever had the menhol u know wat i mean............. ^~^

My first cigarette was a newport. I like the menthol flavor, and had another. They were harsh sometimes. I like Marlboro better than these.

Ok so I started smoking about a year ago. This was my first cig and that is why i think its the worst I only smoked a newport once or twice. I have been looking around and trying different brands trying to find the best common cigarette. I mostly like marlboro smooth the best. So here is my Question: If I tried a pack of newports what is the best brand of them the regulars or the 100's ,etc. Thanks

Oh...by far my favorite cigarette EVER!!! I have been smoking since i was 14 and i started on Reds...whick suck so much ass its not even funny. Best menthol with the biggest "hit". It packs a punch which you learn to love. Once you had a pack...you never wanna switch. Nothing compares to the hard-hitting action of my Newport 100's. BEST CIG EVER!!!

I love Newport 100's. I've been smoking since just before I turned 18. My first cig was a Newport. Since then I've tried just about everything. Marlboro Menthol and Menthol light, Kools, Jade, Camel, Eve, USA Gold, Soenca, or however you spell it, Parlament, Misty, Capri, You name it, I've probably smoked it at least once. And Newport is still MY brand. It's the only thing i can smoke regularly and be happy. Newport 100s are alot better than shorts in my opinion. But i will admit they are overpriced, I miss the days cigs were 3 bucks

Nuthin beats a good Newport. You either love em or you hate em, my point proven exactly by all the reviews. In my case, I honestly can't smoke any other cigarette. I tried switching to lighter brands, but just couldn't do it. Newports are the perfect balance of strong menthol flavor yet still giving off the strong flavor of tabacco. In others brands, you can barely taste the menthol or taste it to much to the point where you may as well eat a peppermint patty laced with nicotine. I live up in Massachusetts where Newports are by far the most popular brand of cigarette. There's quite the loyal following up here. And for good reason, they're the fucking perfected cigarette. Unfortunetly, they're almost 7 dollars here in Mass (everything is fucking overpriced here). In fact, I payed 7.50 for a pack today! Ouch. When I'm on a budget I go for a 4 dollar tin of Grizzly, gets the job done, but I much rather grab me a pack of Ports. Best cig around, no comparison.

These suck, period. They burn going down, they taste bad, they are expensive as hell, they have fiber glass in them for some stupid reason, the only reason I give it a second star is for the nicotine buzz. These are way overpriced, lowsy cigarettes, if you want a smoke, go for Marlboro Red, those are great.

they're good, strong, menthol cigarettes. probably are a bit over priced, but they work. most people either like them or hate them.  i like em, but they're not my first choice.

After smoking these, I think I know now that I am not a fan of any type of menthol. I heard these were the best menthol to choose. They were good for a quick smoke, the menthol is not overpowering like some people say, I could barely taste the menthol sometimes actually. Not as much of a buzz as a regular cig, but if you really like menthol than these are for you.

Newports are good. Very pricey though.

I feel these cigarettes are a failure. The grade of tobacco used in Newports is very low and the burn is ashy and stale. In my opinion Newports should not even be considered menthols for the weak, nearly absent coolness they possess. If it werent for the nicotine buzz they provide I would not even take the time to review this cigarette. A 1/5.

Newports are hands down my favorite cigarettes. I am one of those guys that likes to try new things, and whenever i do, i always seem to come back to the 'ports. The flavor is a bit strong when you first smoke them, but once you get accustomed to the taste you begin to appreciate how enjoyable these are. Take it from me, i smoked Marlboro Reds, 27s, and smooths(wonderful flavor, but its one of those things that can smoke once and then half way through the pack, you just wanna throw it away) Camel Turkish.. all of them... Jades werent good, kinda nasty... Frosts just flat out blow. I had hated the taste of the other menthols so much that i swore to "naturally aspirated" cigarettes. So in a nutshell, if you are a person that hates menthols, and loves Reds, you will be pleasantly surprised by Newports.

I give the newport lights 5 out of 5 because they taste good and the menthol is not over powering. They are a hell of a lot better than camel lights or frosts. I recommend  anyone who likes light menthol to give these a try. Also try Marlboro menthol lights, a little more strong on the menthol, but it isn't over powering.

Newports are sort of an acquired taste. People either love them or hate them. Beware though, once you get hooked on them, it will be tough to get off of them, as they contain so much nicotine.

newports are pretty good. i prefer marlboro smooths over them, but they still taste pretty good and i like the nicotine rush that accompanies the first few puffs. ive been smoking for 5 years now and throughout that time ive only smoked reds, rollies when i was broke, and newports. then smooths rolled along and ive been smoking them ever since.

I liked these.......when i had no smokes and got one at the end of the day for free, haha.  I give them 3, they aren't the worse, but why to hell anyone would smoke these all the time is a mystery.

Dry, harsh taste. This is certainly not something that I would even bum due to the awful taste.

I love me a fresh pack of 'ports, about the only cigarrettes i can chain smoke and stand the taste. they numb your throat too, and personally, i love the very end, best part. Also one of the highest nicotine cigs ive smoked, next to bull-somethings and KOOLs. that being said chain smoke half a pack or so a day for two weeks and enjoy spittin up that blood, which not only cost you a couple years of your life but $70 too. Fresh ones also smell better in my preference. Older packs or stale porties i cant stand and think they taste like a mix of fiberglass, ammonia, and catpiss. I prefer the regs over 100's mostly cus they look "cooler" and the filter is shorter, though the actual cigarrette is like 1/4cm shorter too. Also i noticed the 100's seem to have a dryer, more blatant taste. I never understood the black people connotation they hold tho. But hell, fuck cigs altogether; smoke weed.

newports are great, all my friends smoke em. I guess we just think we are black of something. But hey for the money they are strong and are cheap.

with newports you get good bang for your buck. round here u can get um for $4.30 pack. THe fiberglass in um cuts up your throat a bit so the menthol can get deeper into you and numb your throat so you dont even feel it and you get a bigger kick from the menthol going deeper. i smoke these when i have a soar throat so i wont feel it. great ammount of nicotine kick, gets you going.  i dont like menthols that much but these are good.  4 stars.

These are overrated, overpriced, and over-marketed. They are extremely harsh, probably the strongest filtered cigarette you can find. The draw is so harsh you hardly notice the menthol, let alone any tobacco taste. Newports arent my cup of tea.

I'm 15, and I think these are some really great cigs. After smoking these for awhile, you can't feel any other cig when you hit on it. These are definitely stronger than most.
