 | texas4cash (0) 11/21/2004 | He would have been the best pick even in 2000, let alone 2004. He's moderate, stead fast, and has broad appeal. He appeals to independents, democrats, african americans, military, etc. He would have given Bush a clear edge over Gore in 2000. Maybe in 2008 he'll run, even though he says he won't. We can dream.

 | OneHungryMonster (2) 08/29/2004 | Colin Powell would be great for Bush as VP. Like McCain, he is very well respected, and (since he's a lot more moderate) he could help draw in support from undecideds and people not that fond of Bush. Plus, he might have been able to help appeal to the African American voters.

 | Chosen7Stone (0) 07/09/2004 | Colin Powell is a man of integrity and sincerity. He is calm, cool, and unswayed by his peers -- something many politicians needed to learn before graduating high school.

 | eraser1997 (1) 07/07/2004 | As much as I like Colin Powell, and think he could be an excellent VP or President, I'd actually rather not see him paired up with Bush. He's had to put his own convictions aside too many times to tow the line as Bush's Sec. of State as it is, and I think its hurting his image both at home and abroad.

 | louiethe20th (78) 07/07/2004 | Very credible choice.Powell would get my vote if he ever ran for the GOP nomination someday.I believe he would be the first black president in our nations history, if he chose to take that route.I do not believe he has the desire to run, which he has stated.Again, though, as far as a VP he would be excellent.

 | magellan (177) 07/07/2004 | I'd like to see it, if for no other reason that it would symbolize a desire by Bush to move back towards the middle in terms of foreign policy. Unfortunately, I don't believe that Bush wants to be moderate, and I don't think Powell would have anything to do with this ticket.
