If there was ever an actor who could convincingly play the role of the bad guy, it was the great Lee Van Cleef. With a six-shooter-like stare and a hawk-like nose, Van Cleef looked naturally menacing. But it was the coldness which he exuded that fans remember him best for. And the epitome of his evil roles was in his portrayal of Angel Eyes in 'The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly', as he went toe to toe with fellow legends, Eli Wallach and Clint Eastwood.

Outside of westerns, his mystique doesn't work well. In western roles, however, one of the best ever.
