Exemplifies the disappointing nature of the Indians, year in and year out. Every year I keep thinking will be their year, and every year they get worse. Hafner used to be massive, but has made a precipitous decline, and I wouldn't be shocked if steroids turned out to have something to do with it.

Update: Hafner's production dropped in 2007, but he still drove in 100 with an OBP of .385. Thats the type of down year that I can live with. If he struggles again in 2008, then I would have to drop him down a notch. For now though he is still a tenuous 5.

5/30/2006 - Hafner has had over 100 RBI the last 2 years, and looks to do the same in 2006. He is a big dude who not only hits for power, but a good average as well. He would be a great 3 or 4 hitter in any lineup in the majors, and that makes him a great player.

This guy is an absolute beast! He deserves the highest rating available in spite of the fact that he is merely a DH (although so is Big Papi). Hafner hit FIVE grand slams before the 2006 All Star break, an MLB record. And can you believe this is the same guy that relaxes in the clubhouse by playing CHESS?? PRONK ROCKS IN PRONKVILLE!

Hafner is a MONSTER. Seriously, he has to be one of the strongest guys in MLB.

I lucked out last summer and got seats, right behind the plate, for a Sox-Indians game. We were so close (4th row) that the little kid next to me was handed a baseball by the Ump between innings.

From that angle, you can appreciate the speed of the pitches, and the distance a ball can travel when one of these guys gets a good piece of one.

I will never forget the grand slam Hafner hit off Foulke that night. I've never seen a baseball leave a park in such a hurry.
