12/25/2007 | Michael Phelps is a GREAT swimmer and a GREAT athlete!!!!!!!!!! No one can beat him cuz he is SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The BEST part is that I got to see him swim at the 12th Fina World Championships in Melborn Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And as every one says he's supper HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I like him more when it comes to the swimming more than how cute he is but its 100% true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

08/23/2004 | by far the best at his events (individual medley and 200m butterfly) equal to crocker at 100 fly. not quite as good at pure freestyle. since the best swimmers (thorpe, van hogenbaand) freestyle, and these are the most glamorous events, i'm not sure he's the best, even if he is the most versatile. as the stars say, he's the man.

08/21/2004 | I know nothing about swimming, so I can't comment about Michael Phelps'undisputed athletic skills. However, I can say that he displayed incredible sportsmanship by giving up his spot on the relay team so a teammate would have a chance to medal. It's the right thing to do, Phelps said. This guy is obviously not an egomaniac and has a good heart. Since he is only 19, I hope he will compete in the 2008 Olympics.

08/17/2004 | Two Golds and Two Bronze to date. He'll probably end up with eight medals and 3-5 golds...and be deemed an utter failure by the uninformed general public. When all the marketing suits are touting Phelps to win 8 golds, how can anybody succeed under that pressure. Before Mark Spitz won 7 golds in the '72 Games, he won 4 medals (including 2 relay golds) in the Mexico City games but was deemed a disappointment. Phelps is kind of in the same boat. I am a swim team dad, a worse fate than soccer mom (Swim Team Coach tells parents to sit down, shut up, volunteer your ass off, and stand around 12 hours at a pool on a hot Saturday). But it allows me to watch a lot of good swimmers. Compared to Young Phelps, he makes the best kids in my swim league look like they are swimming in cement. Swimming is a physically demanding sport, but watching Phelps' smooth-as-silk strokes makes him look piscean.
