Whats wrong with you people? When ANY statesman, no matter what side of the isle they are on, you show dignity, respect. Is that ALL ya'll are about is HATE? Jesus. I mean he had no scandals, was a world war 2 hero....Yes he had made some mistakes, every prez has. I never seen so much hate, politics has gotten really bad.

Ranks up there with Gerald Ford in terms of being a great American and an honest and decent man. Didn't agree with all of his decisions while in office, and he certainly dropped the ball when naming Souter to the Supreme Court, but on a personal level it's hard to not like this great man.

In this event, I guess we can stop "reading his lips"

Wow, lot's of hatred. You would think that his having to accept defeat to Bill Clinton rather than being re-elected would satisfy their need to punish him further. But, nooOOOooo . . . He did conduct the Gulf War very effectively during the combat phase, but his post combat strategies and behavior lost him the election to the incredibly weak and inexperienced Bill CLinton (who really was the democrats' B-team, behind Mario Cuomo) determining his legacy. He had run on Reagan's coattails and Reagan's platform, then governed (with the exception of the Gulf War) like a neo-liberal. I will mourn his death with the respect due a former US President with whom I disagreed on many, many points and who disappointed me in much the same way Jimmy Carter did.
