Lumber Company (mid 70's Pirates) 4

I remember reading an interview with a pitcher of the era who talked about the differences between teams. Some, he said, were fastball hitters, who went "Oh boy, here comes a heater." others were "Oh boy, here comes a curve ball" The Pirates, he said were "Oh boy, here comes a BASEball."

Certainly defined this team for me.

Great team nickname but wasn't it the "Lumber & Lightning Company"? Thunder - the bats, lightning - the pitching?

another great and fitting name for a power-driven Buccos squad. I believe the company was: Stargell, Al Oliver, Bob Robertson, Gene Clines, and Richie Hebner. I'm probably wrong(i was maybe 2, so my memories of this are second hand and from pictures of that group w/their bats extended forward).
