Rudy Tomjanovich was hired as the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers on July 9, 2004. Tomjanovich takes over for Phil Jackson, following Jackson's resignation after the Lakers' defeat in the 2004 finals. Prior to coaching the Lakers, Tomjanovich had coached the Houston Rockets before stepping down for medical reasons. (Add picture)

Did a good job in Houston in the mid-90s.

Too bad he stepped down as coach for medical reasons once again. The Lakers won with him and they seemed lost without him. Maybe he went back to Houston where he belonged.
