The last words he said was he was going to fight the false charges against him that four young men accused him of sexual misconduct when he was acting as their surrogate father. The last that was said about this was they were settling out of court. He's still on TBN on Sunday evenings. I guess money makes all things new but it was supposed to be Jesus who makes all things new. He still has a big (Cult) following judging from the large audience that can be seen on his television show. Great performance and skilled rhetoric if you want a show tune in.

Four young men alledged that he made them call him father, mentored them, bought them gifts then sexually abused them, last year. He said he was going to fight it because it was not true. Last I heard there was going to be a settlement. He has not lost any air time on TBN and all is forgotten? Who-ever said where there is smoke there is fire must have been crazy(or, dummies don't understand what it means ).

It is shocking and shameful that allegations have come out that he took sexual advantage of 4 teenage boys he was mentoring and acting as a surrogate father toward. As one of the most homophobic Pastors to head a MegaChurch (30,000 members) he should have avoided suspicious favoritism like sleeping alone in the room, texting them with silly photo's of his muscles and buying them jewelry, gifts & cars. Maybe it is time for the Church world to wake up and stop putting these mere men on thrones and pedal stools as if they are God in the flesh when in reality they are only humans and sinful ones at that. I never thought a hill of beans of his teaching because he twisted the word of God and got mega rich doing so with this word of fake prosperity doctrine!

I'm sure he would love to be Iconic and legendary like Ex-South African President Nelson Mandela or Martin Luther King Jr. but he seems really arrogant and condemns poor people of color who cannot consistently pay tithes like many Preachers wrongfully do. The curse of not keeping the Law of Moses applied to another race of people (circumcized, lawkeeping Jews) in another time period before the Crucifixion of Christ. I was raised by devout (colorblind) Grandparents who watch this man religiously and all the rest of the (pay me your money and God will make you rich) on a certain major Christian network (lets just say it is in Costa Mesa, Ca) my folks go all out with devotion. I don't know much but I do know this much for certain, the Christian theme of the New Testament after the Crucifixion is that Jesus died on the Cross to break the Curse of sickness, poverty, oppression and to offer life in more abundance, whether you believe it or not, this is the message and proper Christian Th... Is it just me who is noticing this or I am wrong in thinking that he wears short sleeve shirts cut right above his muscles to display his biceps and how hard he has been working out? I used to love his teachings & he made a lot of sense until I started reading my Bible for myself. He ventures off into never, never land every so often and it seems so far from the original text (and off the text) that I turn the channel. Maybe I am a little slow at getting what he is trying to say. You think he is going right and he quickly makes a left turn and the topic changes to a whole different meaning. However, he sure has a gift in restoration and deliverance esp. in helping men turn to Jesus and away from gangs and drugs. He teachings promotes worth and value to the ones most in need of it. Many thanks to him for those lives he helped turned around and are now contributing in such a positive way to our society.

Ok...I had to cut out the X-rated comments for my mother. She said I could'nt say God and cuss in the same sentence. I told her, I'm not without out sin, so I can say what I want...need-less to say, I love my mom, so she won the argument. Bishop, just keep building the Kingdom, God has already placed the foundation in Christ Jesus. And if they persecuted Jesus, they will persecute us too. We can wait for all haters at the Kingdom table where enemies sit, and they can watch the annointing oil running from our heads and see our cups running over. Bishop, I think you're already sitting down, so you get to watch this, what this! My mom said this one was better. I don't feel better about not sending this version, but my mother is happy. That's much like the Kingdom of God, we may not always agree with every thing in the Kingdom, but its best for the Kingdom of God, not Satan and his imps. God! God! God! God! God receives the Glory!

To Won't Complain, when you quote the scripture, please do so with understanding. When you quote "Touch not the Lord's anointed" it does not mean what you said. You are quoting out of context. The verse in contained within Psalms 105 which is about God's protection of the people of Israel and his deliverance from their oppressors. Just a few verses before verse 15, we can see that the "anointed ones" weren't just the leaders of Israel but sll the people of Israel. The verse showed that God would not allow the people of Israel to be physically harmed by enemies because He was devinely protecting them. Yet, church leader today who quote the verse dont' mention that it was referring to all the people of Israel. They and people as yourselves act like the verse was speaking about ..leaders and that it applies only to them. This verse has nothing to do with criticizing or questioning church leaders. In fact, many Bible passages warns us to carefully evaluate church leaders' teachings and... Read more

If LONG was an entertainer,AS I SEE HIM,then no one would be offended or care. For me,it's a POSITIVE program to watch and learn about the bible in an entertaining way.All the other PASTORS?BISHOPS,etc.,bore me.I don;t believe any IMPERFECT HUMAN will free me of my sins and give me SALVATION.My relationship with GOD is between him and I alone and I will PAY NO HUMAN BEING to teach me the word of GOD.GOD gave me sight to read all that he wanted me to see in his book, the BIBLE.I love the way LONG reads and expresses his points of view.Whomever is gullible enough to donate to his pocket, that's their problem.Whomever has changed their lives for the better paying LONG for his "SERVICE " to the church, isn't it the same as hiring a councelor or doc to help you clear up your life?? Everyone, including the POLITICIANS,use GOD to get where they want.I believe LONG is doing something positive and getting paid! IN the US ,NOTHING COMES FOR FREE MY FRIENDS.

A very seductive heretic who postures in the pulpit in shirts that make you wonder why he's called a "bishop." I'm not saying that God cares about what a person wears, but you'd think he'd want to avoid being a stumbling block to the women of his congregation. I listened to his broadcast a couple times and am apalled by what he considers the gospel. He seems to insert so much opinion in his comments, and they're rarely of any scriptural substance. It amazes me why false teachers have to insist that Jesus wasn't poor, to justify their excessive lifestyles. This is a false teacher with a HUGE following

By Keith Boykin, in spirituality Monday, August 29 2005, 12:21AM"In 1995, Bishop Eddie Long established a nonprofit, tax-exempt charity to help the needy and spread the gospel. But it was Long, leader of the largest church congregation in Georgia, who became the charity's biggest beneficiary." That's the way the Atlanta Journal-Constitution began an exhaustive report on Bishop Eddie Long's eponymous charity, which reportedly provided him with at least $3 million in salary, benefits and the use of property, including a $1.4 million 20 acre home and the use of a $350,000 luxury Bentley automobile. You may recall that Long is the pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia and led a march against gay rights from the Martin Luther King Jr. Center last year. The damning story in the Journal also mentions that Long was fired from a job for lying on an expense report. The story continues: "In October 2002, Bishop Eddie Long Ministries notified the IRS that the charity wa... My wife calls this man "Bishop Eddie Wrong." A comment to "Bartman", do you have children? If you do, do you agree with EVERYTHING that they say and do? If you do..does that mean you LOVE them?? Do you chastise them when they behave badly, or say something that's inappropriate? If you do, does that mean you HATE them?? Your post reminds me of a scripture in Proverbs...Open rebuke is better than secret love, and that's proverbs 27:5. I think bishop Wrong has fooled many many people as far as his "good works." Down deep, he appeares to me to be a man with faulty doctrines. I heard him actually say that we are "gods." And why does he have to wear those skin-tight shirts that look like they're cutting off his circulation in the pulpit? Is he vain? Trying to show off his swole? I know THIS much though...he's a false prophet. Beware.

I think people that are hating on Bishop Long need to look at themselves first! Here is a little knowledge for all haters of GOD, Bishop Eddie L. Long & New Birth Church.. Watch this. Watch this... Bishop Long comes from a family that was poor but worked very hard to send him to college and after getting out of college he worked very hard to get what he has. Watch this... Bishop Long is NOT on salary like other preachers at other large and small churches. If you do not believe in what he is saying then change the channel or leave and dont visit the church that he pastors over. People all over only look at the clothes and the wealth that he has. The money that is given to Bishop Long is saved is used to BLESS others. Bishop Long has purchased cars adn houses and various other things from his own pockets and not the church pockets. There are times when he uses new Birth money to Bless others. But I believe that you should look at the good things that he is doing and not focus on the neg... Read more

Bishop Eddie Long, "Stand steady, and don't be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Bring others to Christ. Leave nothing undone that you ought to do." 2 Timothy 4:5 "Pastors who do their work well should be paid well and should be highly appreciated, especially those who work hard at both preaching and teaching. Never tie up the mouth of an ox when it is treading out the grain--let him eat as he goes along! Those who work deserve their PAY! 1 Timothy 5:17-18 "Praise the Lord, all nations everywhere. Praise him, all the peoples of the earth. For he loves us very dearly, and his truth endures. Praise the Lord." Psalm 117 "Happy are all who perfectly follow the laws of God. Happy are all who search for God, and always do his will, rejecting compromise with evil, and walking only in his paths." Psalm 119:1-3 AMEN! AMEN!! AMEN!!!

Eddie Long is just another greedy preacher out to get more and justify it by twisting scripture. Futhermore he projects the wrong image of a man of the cloth. He approaches the pulpit in muscle shirts as if He's in a Mr. Universe competition. Come on man, this is the House of God. Show some reverence; exercise some decorum. He struts about flexing and profiling. He pretends to be inconspicuous, but He is trying to entice the women by showing off his physique. If a female preacher were to get up in the pulpit wearing a form fitting halter dress showing off her figure, it would be such an outcry from the Christian community, they'd practically stone her to death. Yet, Eddie can parade around as if He's auditioning for a porn role. All that aside, the most dangerous aspect of Eddie Long is the false teaching that Christians are gods, and all we have to do essentially is put a bit in God's mouth, turn the rudder and get Him to do just what we say. Where did the humility go; when ... Read more

http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/news/local/12500710. htm Megachurch pastor biggest beneficiary of charity he founded Associated Press LITHONIA, Ga. - Jesus wasn't broke, and leaders of churches shouldn't be either. That's what Bishop Eddie Long, who heads Georgia's biggest church, has to say in defense of his grand lifestyle, funded largely by the nonprofit religious charity he started in 1997. According to tax records, Bishop Eddie Long Ministries, Inc. provided him with more than $3 million in salary and benefits, including a $1.4 million 20-acre home and use of a $350,000 Bentley. Long also received more than $1 million in salary, including $494,000 in 2000. Long maintains the money came from royalties, speaking fees and several large donations - not from members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where he became pastor in 1987. The charity stopped operating in 2000. During his 18-year tenure, New Birth has swelled from 300 members to 25,000. Long told the Atlanta Journa... Read more

I have always been inspired by the ministry that flows out of Bishop Eddie Long. I don't claim to know the bible verbatim, but I know that there's a scripture in there that says somethings like: touch not my anoiting and do my prophet no harm. We as people need to stop being so judgmental of everything and everybody because the truth of the matter is that the majority of us is jealous or envious of one another. If we read our bibles clearly enough it tells us to love one another and if we can't do that then instead of spending our time criticizing one another we need to ask GOD to help us to study to show thyself approve; so then when we study the word of GOD he will then begin to reveal to us the things that need to be fixed in our lives and give us a true revelation of prayer because prayer can go places and do things that we can't. So I encourage you people out there instead of tearing the man of GOD down; pray for him and his congregation. Judgement is coming for all of us; even me... Read more

Touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harrm. Does this sound familiar to anyone? It's not for us to judge his lifestyle God has all the power to do that. And God, never said be saved and then tell the people, you're just supposed to be willing and when it's all said and done... He will divide the wheat from the tare. What's said is that proclaimed Christians would even get on the world wide web and share there feelings about someone whose standing for Christ...no matter how faulty you may think his stand is. He's not the antichrist and we have no business talking about him the way some of us are. I say us because we're all Christians and we are all supposed to speak the same language.

Mr. Long was not chosen by The Holy One of Israel he was chosen by the you's that gives him your life. I realize that so many African American people look for hope in everything but God and within. Christians holds a belief that tithing is money and Long is truly raking it in by the barrel. I wonder how many of his members/donors bills are paid. God will play judgment on all of these so-called men and women of God. And as for the cursing, him, T D Jakes and many other clergy believe that they can curse and still be people of God. Why would a crook every apologize for being a crook, he's too crooked to see straight. Lastly prayer is ok, but open rebuke, chastisment and correction is better, but OH I forgot his followers believes everything he says. Why is it nobody ever studies the Bible, rather than believing these men.

My Dear TV Evangelist Buster, You are so right, and I admire your boldness for Christ. I am sick behind the blasphemus abominations taking over the pulpits of America. I've had the opportunity to worship overseas in both rich and poor countries, If you want to hear the true gospel preached consistantly then go to one of the so-called third world countries. They are not waiting on their break-through!! They just want Jesus!! They bragg about Jesus and the peace he gives them in the face of much adversity! I learned alot from them. We are so greedy and driven by the consumer marketing tactics of this country. It is not enough to own a good running car; we are not blessed unless we have the biggest and best and more than we need. What does that say to the beleiver in Bangladesh, in the bush countries of Africa, certain parts of Latin America where if they eat twice in a day it's a miracle!! If he says things such as: Christians are little gods and We can command God by our words, I would like to know more. The Jews also think that to command God's name, one can do anything, which is why some use G-d. The Lords name was banned and could only be spoke of once a year by the head holy man. Jesus told us to be Christ-like, that is the goal of life. He said we can move mountains by our faith. I think Bishop Eddie Long may be on to something. I think I'll look him up.

Aside from Long's obvious errors on Christians being gods, and all the other word of faith heresies that he preaches, this man drives me up the proverbial wall with his constant watch this....watch this...watch this, every time he prepares to make a point. My humble opinion is, if the man spent as much time in studying the Word and prayer as he does in the weight room, he might be a halfway decent preacher.
