The low score isn`t for the gameplay, it`s for the fact that three games does not qualify as a franchise. This is a decent series however I never was wowed by this game, to me this game is not much more than an average FPS with flash and dazzle tacked on, as a game three stars.

I like both Halo and Halo 2, and looking forward to Halo 3 when it comes out.

Off topic:

Played Halo 3, recently, it's easily the best of the series.

Excellent multi-player and an above-average plot make for the best fps available.

You can't really argue with what is probably the greatest FPS franchise of all time... Although there wasn't a lot of improvement between 2 and 3, this wasn't hugely important as the second installment was of such high quality anyway.

I am simply astounded by the amount of people touting this duller-than-dishwater franchise as greater than the immortal legends of Nintendo (Mario, Pokemon), Sega (Sonic), and Namco (Pac-Man). This is simply an uncreative first-person-shooter with a nameless hero (Master Chief? What the deuce kind of name is that?) and mediocre graphics.
