A great fight , but with all due respect, Mr. Hagler would dispatch Mr. Jones.

In their respective primes, this is a bloodbath. I'll go with Hagler, but he might be too badly battered to defend the victory.

this is pretty dificult to predict.jones was the most gifted fighter ever, and he made hopkins look like a ameteur, but we never got to see how jones would react in a close fight like leonard did against hearns.when hagler was at his peak he was imposible to beat,he could fight southpaw and righty,he looked terible against duran and old against sugar, their is no way a fighter without a jab could beat hagler, jones never used his jab.

As much as I revere Roy Jones, Jr., a dream fight against the great Marvin Hagler at middleweight would have been ill-advised to say the least. Marvin Hagler was one of the greatest fighters ever, and arguably would have given fits to the even-greater Sugar Ray Robinson at this weight level. But on styles, Hagler was the type of fighter who would smother his opponents with his non-stop aggression. Jones, a defensive genius, would have had to put up with this non-stop assault- yet I could see Jones wilting under Hagler's torrid pressure. But the key here would have been weight itself: Jones was obviously better at heavier weights, and dropping down to middleweight (where he started) could have sapped his strength. Yes, Jones would possibly have had more speed at middleweight- but Hagler had all the skills at this weight level. I find a knockout of Roy Jones, Jr. unlikely, but a lopsided decision in favor of Marvin Hagler infinitely plausible.

If the Marvin Hagler that fought Tommy Hearns shows up, he's unbeatable. If the Haglar that fought Sugar Ray Leonard shows up, Jones might win. But I'm going to follow my heart on this one and go with Hagler. At his best he was a human fighting machine.

Wow. I really don't know but I love the fight. I love Hagler, but in their primes, I can't go against Roy Jones. Jones is just as strong and quick but Hagler is such a junkyard dog. . .I'll say Jones but not with great confidence.

Jones confuses Hagler with his speed and movement from Rounds 1-3, but Hagler never stops coming. Certain wicked body shots indicate to Jones that Hagler's power, while not as explosive as his own, come from a pair of very heavy hands. Hagler, well aware he is not Jones' equal as a pure boxer, continues to pound Jones'body, as he himself soaks up some of Jones's best speed shots, and scowls. By Round 9 Jones is beginning to slow down and Hagler is finally starting to work the head, the body shots now making his arms difficult to hold up, much less throw with his customary speed. By 11 Hagler is pinning Jones against the ropes, his strength obviously equal to that of Jones, and throwing evil hooks to the body and uppercuts to the head. The referee comes to Jones' rescue in 12, with Jones in a daze, barely able to hold his arms up. Hagler's strategy of kill the body, and the head will follow, prevails.
