Well . . . there's a lotta sun down here. At least it's accurate. Can't complain when you can go out to a beach in mid-October and get a tan. I think Hawaii would fit this one a little better, though, but oh well.

This nickname succintly captures why Florida is a beloved place for a vacation. Along with The Peach State, The Heart of Dixie, and The Golden State, one of just a few nicknames that works great as a front-and-center motto on a travel brochure.

More like the hurricane state. Also tunderstorms. Ironicly, this is the rainiest state in the nation, averaging over 60 inches in most areas, and about 80 in Miami.
