This is a problem if one should ruminate a lot about the nicknames of the state. If one uses "badger" as a verb and a noun not towards the animal, it would mean "bother." Anyhow, I do not blame them using this for the animal for its toughness, but I prefer "America's Bread Basket" (From Wikipedia.) "America's Dairyland," maybe, but it has fierce competition with other states, like California, New York and Idaho when using that nickname.

A badger is a tough, mean, fighter. It is a good mascot.

LOL I seriously thought Wisonsin's nickname was the cheese state, or the dairy state. This is new to me. I feel slow.

Bad tempered, fierce little devils. Is this the only animal in the State from which to choose a nickname?
