I'm not sure how to rate on this list, so I'll use five for overrated. I presume this refers to the one from 11 years ago. It was nothing special; just a soap opera which happened to be set on the famous ship. However, there was an old black-and-white one which was more on target, historically (from what I remembered), and that movie was pretty good.

This movie is a gigantic chick flick stinker. It goes on and on with truly banal dialog. I think it is three hours and change for time. At least one hour could have been chopped out. Cut it down to two hours and let's get on with the sinking! As usual Hollywood got the vapors and spread its honors all over this sea going hogwash. If it weren't for the hundreds of millions of dollars involved in its production and distribution, and the accompanying media hoopla, one could safely ignore the film. Nearly every element in the film, including the love story, is presented in a hackneyed and predictable manner. I don't think that the ship hits the berg until over half over. We are subjected to the love story of the working class hero and the oppressed upper class damsel. I did like her nude scene, however. I mentioned that Hollywood spread its honors, but even "Hollyweird" can only take so much. The Oscars were all in the technical areas. Since the acting and story line were so bad, not even Hollywood would dare to give an Oscar for the acting. 200 million dollars in 1997 was real dough, and the specials in this flick are very good. I read a study that two thirds of the repeat views were under 25 years old. That should tell you something.

Just say no to this god-awful, Disney-fied, superficial chic flick. Predictably, the Celin Dion soundtrack sucked hard too. The Titacic was historical event based upon tragic events, not something dominated by some bogus, cliched ("My-heart-will-go-on!")love story.

I rooted for the iceberg. . .for that, there was no second date. . .

I loved it when I saw it in theaters.....now I just think it was overdone. Heck, the title of the film is simplistic in itself!

Hell yes it was.

It was ok but Leo kind of brought it down.

I saw Titanic at the theater about six weeks after it came out and i still had to buy the tickets a day ahead of time. I would say it is a good movie. well acted nice special effects. But I had to wonder why it has such a huge draw. It is a GOOD movie, but not the greatest thing i have ever seen. So yes, this is a movie that is overrated.

Very over rated. Although I thought that the visual effect were well done, the story is bad. When the ship was sinking, I found the random scenes of people before their death more emotional then the actually love story. That old couple in bed waiting to die and that mother telling her kids was about heaven was something that stayed with me when I first saw it. However, the love story is routine. I know the movie could have been a lot better without the love story, and I think I would have liked it more if it wasn't a cheesy romance movie. It had a lot of potential and a lot of economic backing, I was expecting a lot more.

Pointless as well as overrated. All it is, is a love story which more than likley never happened, just to pass the time untill the documentary of the sinking of the Titanic. If I want to see the ship sink, I'll watch the History Channel and skip the pointless, romantic drival.

The most overrated movie of all time. You knew how it would end before the movie was released. The casting was questionable at best and other than the sinking of the ship the entire mess was just boring. I have said it once and I will say it again it was two and a half hours to long.

Definatly one of the most overrated films I've ever seen! How can a movie filled with dull performances, a boring 3-hour plot and annoying music get 11 oscars, over 600 million dollars at the box office and loads of popular reviews. Even the special effects weren't that impressive. REALLY OVERRATED!
