My kids LOVE all three movies. From the looks of it, they are well done.I just never could get into them. I do not think it is a bad movie. for me it is not the movie I will want to watch all the time.It is a bit over rated to me.

When I heard they were going to make LOTR movies, it's fair to say I was less than thrilled. I vowed never to patronize them in any way, as they'd end up as embarrassments that should've been left alone. Yet another in a long line of fruitless wanderings through my local Blockbuster Video ended up producing one of the most amazing turnarounds in my viewing history. Boredom forced me into renting THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING as a lark; something to spend a Saturday afternoon rolling my eyes over and snidely whooping about. Ten minutes later, I was dining on a steaming plate of crow, bodily and emotionally transfixed with Peter Jackson's masterful adaptation. EVERYTHING a movie should be: densely verbose, luxuriantly paced, wisely cast, and brilliantly executed. If it's the last thing you ever do, purchase all three DVDs and clear out a weekend to experience them. My only regret to this day was not having seen them during their original theatrical releases. I won't be repeating that mistake with THE HOBBIT.

I have the extended version, and I feel it is one of the best movies made in recent years. The CG is amazing and I also really enjoyed the commentary. I felt that this was my favourite LOTR movie. There were some very good scenes in the extended version that they left out of the theatrical version. I felt it was interesting to see the contrast of the Shire to the rest of the world. The relationship between the race of the Elfs, Dwarfs and Men is also extremely interesting. All in all, I really, really like this movie, and its not over rated in any way.

The dullest of the LOTR Trilogy. Though it gets and extra star for great special effect, a wonderful score, and some good acting the film was just very boring. It lasted way too long than it needed too and the story was very complicated to keep up leaving loads of flaws. Definatly an overrated movie! Update: okay I changed my error! HAPPY?

I wouldn't pay a dime to watch any of the LOTR movies.
