Either it is way overrated or I am way too old.

Even Keanu Reeves, who I normally dislike, didn't bother me in this one. The Matrix was something new, and anytime Hollywood can come out with soemthing different it's a good thing. I'd much rather have The Matrix than another re-hash of an old TV show. Unfortunately, it was good enough and popular enough that they wanted to make more.

The first movie was actually a very good underground style film.People who trash it probably didn't notice that it has several layers of meaning and is heavy in analogy and symbolism.The second and third films,however, were utter GARBAGE.This movie was not meant to have a sequel.It was meant to make you THINK.
