Like Tsingtao, I really do not find Sapporo to be anything extremely special. However, it is a decent lager. Personally, I have issues paying for an import when there are so many superior lagers available domestically. You might like the crisp, light taste of Sapporo with sushi or Japanese food.

Only had it once, not something I'd go out of my way for.

Its has the lively character of late 80's Anime.

Most Japanese beers are made with rice (as is Bud). That makes them too astringent for my taste.

I'm not a big fan of the Japanese style lagers. Having said that, I'm not a big fan of lagers in general.

I do not like the Rice!

Not bad; nothing to write home about.

A pretty good Canadian beer. If you buy it the US it is brewed in Canada. Fine quality, light taste, cool can. If you like lighter beers it is worth trying.

Not my favorite Japanese beer but tasty nonetheless.

Great with sushi
GenghisTheHun 12/17/2007
Rather a common beer. The Japanese could do better, but they are brewing it for the pedestrian standard American taste for beer.

One of my favorite Japanese lagers. Awesome can too.

A very excellent Asian import!

often used exclusively for sake bombs, but great on its own. I hesitate to call it Japan's budweiser, but it may be just that...
CzechMate 11/14/2007
A very good mild beer with an easy taste that as suggested and served goes very well with Sake.
cimbrel30 10/22/2007
Really good, I like it because it's blonde but with a good degree of bitterness. I wouldn't imagine that japanese do such as good beer
Djahuti 04/16/2006
Not bad,but Imported from Japan and thus it costs more than many better tasting Domestic Draft Style brews.

Not too bad, not too good. Maa maa desu.

Above-average. . .light and acidic. . .good for a change of pace when you want to try an Asian beer, but I prefer European brews myself.

Great Japanese beer. Mardi Gras 1990 I drank a 64 oz mini-keg ( with a handle) of this Mardi Gras Day. What a great day!

Don't drink beer, but when I was in Japan the other Marines got ____ed up on this stuff enough for me to notice.

Great beer. Easy to drink, good level of alcohol and cheap(if you live in Asia). What more could you want?

I always thought these were the coolest beers growing up because of the big bottle and the cool, Japanese name, up until I found out some were brewed in Canada.

I used to think this was a great beer. Of course, the only thing I knew about it, was what I remembered from Sake bombs, so what wasn't great. Well, I went to sushi the other night and order a Sapporo. It is okay, but it is not that great. It goes along with the whole theme of sushi and what not but without the sake, I didn't have the enthusiasm about it. Definitely not a sit around, watch a movie, drink a six pack of Sapporo.

I am not sure I can give any beer any rating less than a 4 Sapporo is nice in the big tal can or bottle with some sushi. It is an easy and light beeer that makes you feel like you are riding in a rickshaw down the street so fTohyo.

Nothing special. Kind of a nifty can but just your basic run of the mill Pilsner.
