I think Bob Dole should be moved over to the "Historical and Political What-If's" category so that we could discuss the consequences for America had Bob Dole been treated for erectile dysfunction prior to running for president instead of after.

Bob Dole pulled a major bummer during the Summer of 1996. He said that he didn't think that tobacco is addictive. I used to smoke and let me tell you something. Smoking is addictive. Chewing tobacco and smokeless tobacco are addictive too.I finally managed to quit smoking in 1993. That was a dumb statement by Dole and it may have been one of the reasons why he lost the Presidency. I give Dole's bummer a 1 star rating.

Kind of a moderate guy, despite the fact that he was from Kansas.

Bob Dole gives Bob Dole a 1

Hope he has a supply of "depends" if he decides to ...run!

No matter what one may think of Bob Dole's political leanings, he always took (or at least it always appeared that way to me) his public service seriously. Dole was clearly a conservative, but in my opinion was and remains a moderate of the Republican Party. Moreover, I don't recall any hint of corruption or any credible accusations of same even from his critics, and he seemed to have respect from both sides of the aisle. Robert Joseph "Bob" Dole was born July 22, 1923 in Russell, Kansas.

I like Bob Dole; I had the pleasure of meeting him and was impressed even more so with him face to face. A true American who loved our nation and who would have made a great president.

I think he's as mean a politician as you will find in the Republican party. He wanted everyone to admire him for his military service, but couldn't wait to join the Swift Boat Liars to condemn a fellow veteran, John Kerry. Should have stayed in Kansas.

Never saw a tax increase that he couldn't live with.

He's OK. He's part of my dad's generation--the generation that sacrificed, struggled through the Great Depression, and then fought in World War II. But I must admit what I like must about about the man is his straightforwardness and sense of humor. He told George H.W. Bush in the '88 primaries to "stop lying about my record" and advised reporters to "get back in your cage".

I prefer him more as an advertising man, personally.

Didn't know he was still alive.

As a politician, clueless. As an admirer of Britney Spears, well....that speaks for itself. (Down boy)

I like Dole. . .although I voted for Clinton, many got the sense that the Republican party knew that no one would beat Clinton- so they volunteered Dole and he got thrown under the bus. Nice guy who ran for president (1) too late in his career and (2) at the wrong time. Hope he's enjoying retirement.

A real American hero. Should have been president. Read his book, One Soldier's Story.

This man has political abilities akin to Dan Quale, and lacks even more in the personality department.
