My favorite Mexican beer, I enjoy it with tacos or nachos or some other Mexican dish. It goes down smooth, is real easy to drink. Real nice taste.

Update: Wow...its been over 5 years since I first rated this beer. First...I'm getting old, and second...I've been here on rateitall.com a long time. I'm finishing off a 6 pack of this right now, when I didn't intend to drink 6 beers. This isn't a beer I buy often, but it was the best option I could find at a local Latino bar and package store that was the only place open after I left work tonight. The fact that I drank all 6 beers in a couple of hours tells me that its easy to drink. It is a very easy beer  to put down, yet is nicer in flavor than a Bud, Miller, or most other popular beer brands. Like other reviewers here I would have to say that this is my favorite mass produced, Mexican beer.  

4/16/2003 - This is a quality beer. It has a nice dark taste, without the bitter aftertaste that many dark beers produce. Comparable to Michelob's Amber Bock, yet better.  

One of the better Mexican beers available in the US.  Cheaper than most imported beers, now that the Euro has gone through the roof.

I really liked Negra Modelo! I think it's one of the better Mexican beers, and often suggest it to others when they want something other than Corona.

A tasty mild dark beer with a bit better flavor profile than most Mexican beers. Not really a craft beer though. Better than a Bud with some good Mexican food.

My favorite Mexican beer, hands down.  Full flavor, rich color and texture.

This is absolutely the best Mexican beer out there......take that how ever you want to.  I would drink this over Corona and Dos Equis any day but it's not my choice over English and Irish Stouts.

This is my favorite beer to drink when at a Mexican restaurant. Other than that i don't really touch it.

I used to drink it a lot but, it kinda grosses me out now.

I waver between a 3 and a 4. . .I'll go three because I find it heavy. . .I'll enjoy one of these on a rare occassion but the heaviness isn't for me. . .

mexican piss, this stuff taste worse then corona and thats bad stuff. Mexicos only good beer is XX and pacifico

The smoothest dark beer.

Good dark beer from Baja. Not quite as good as Bohemia, but a rather good second. Definitely worth trying. Rich with a crisp flavour. Not an overwhelming beer, but the aroma is deep enough. If Bohemia is not in the house, this is the one I go for with my fish tacos.

This is a great beer to have with almost any big meal, especially of course mexican. goes great with a traditional mexican dish like pasole, or tamales.

Absolutely nothing special. Usually I see people drinking this who are going out of their way to drink something unique and get noticed.

Negra Modela is the best Mexican amber. Bohemia is the best Mexican pale.

I found this beer to be just as good as Dos Equis Amber. However, it's more expensive in my area. Very nice brew, though.

One of the best beers ever made, Bar none. Truly a classic, smooth finish, great with a sandwich or a heavy lunch. Best with food.

Easily one of your better Mexican beers. Full bodied taste, not too taste, and not the harsh biet and after taste associated with many other Mexican beers. All in all, one of Mexico's finest.

The second best from Mexico. Bohemia is better.

A very tasty Mexican beer. Tons of flavor without being heavy, and a nice dark color makes you feel like you're drinking something of substance. Better, but less circulated Mexican beers are Indio (which is similar in weight) and Victoria (which is a little lighter).

I had one of these a couple of nights ago and even though I know I've had it before I must've forgotten or else I would've ordered one everytime I've eaten Mexican food. Quite tastey. Smooth, amber, not nearly as light as a Corona but not to heavy either. Really a very pleasant and enjoyable drink. I was quite surprised.
