This is similar to being impersonal. Some leaders who are impersonal and want this 'professional detachment' are leaders who don't really care about the people who work for them. Unfortunately, a lot of leaders in the work force have this problem (of not caring about their followers.) That is partly why they might over work their staff. All as not caring will do is turn off the team and de-motivate them. They will not really trust the leader.
