Seems to do OK in the Senate and foreign policy oversight....but besides the liabilities noted below, Biden has had extensive brain surgery, which might account for his odd speech patterns (i.e. he can't stop talking...). While the Constitution, to my knowledge, does not mention anything about having an intact brain as a requirement for presidents, some voters might have second thoughts.

Based on what things are important now, he will be good. Nice voice, O.K. face. Hair transplant=bad. He has been interviewed a lot. Tim Russert must like him. I'm sure he can raise money. Doesn't make conservatives skin crawl like Kerry, Kennedy, Hillary, et al. Won't fire up the young & liberal.

Biden is one of the first candidates to make his intentions known that he's running for the presidency in '08. The Senator from Delaware would be a competent candidate and president, but he got into trouble a couple of years ago for plagarizing a British MP's speech--something which should be cause to question his ethics. But he is a strong candidate, especially on foreign policy issues. A negative against this candidacy, besides the plagarism issue, is his tendency to be far too verbose when speaking. This problem, common amongst Senators who run for president, could be something that really puts the brakes on his candidacy. The guy just goes on and on for 70 minutes at a time, saying little of any significant consequence. Generally, candidates who talk more than they have to start making mistakes. And of course, people stop paying attention when you don't get to the point.

Don't count Biden out in any race. He has decades of foreign policy, judiciary, and domestic policy experience, and the political instincts of Bill Clinton. His issues of law school will come up, and I'm sure plenty of other shenanigans, but Joe Biden is likable, he is smart and he is unwavering in his beliefs (unlike "please elect me" Hillary") and will be stronger than some think.

An affably harmless dink of a guy (watch any program he appears on), easy-going (some would say "borderline inert") and vanilla-reliable. And there's the problem: you just can't picture him in the White House calling the shots. He's like your Dad's golf buddy; drives a convertible Jag, tosses you a few bucks for last-minute caddying, gives you pointers on your resum-ay; but what do you REALLY know about him? Everything I've heard from him comes straight out of the 1972 playbook, his "chuck wagon" is a little thin on the gravy, and he won't be on the winning end of any debates. If you enjoy standing perfectly still while the world unfolds around you, "Average Joe" Biden is the man to vote for.

This guy is up for Senate re-election in 2008 so he has to decide. He'll probably run, but he is wasting his time. He is a mile wide and an inch deep. He is a stupid first class windbag.

Personally I like the guy, even though i disagree with him politically. But he has an ego the size of Texas that will attract his political base, but alienate moderatets and independents. Remember he couldnt win the democratic nomination back in 1988 when he was one of the seven dwarfs, how would he win the nomination with Hillary, Bayh, and Richardson in the race?

i don't know much about him, but i think he's a bit on the liberal side, and, while i have no problem with that, it might hurt him in the big picture. isn't he the one that got cheney all riled up, though? or am i thinking of someone else? whoever did, i want to give them a big hug.

Gave him a five in hopes that he would surpass Zell Miller on this list. In reality he's more of a three.
