She didn't just win miss congeniality in this pagent.. But every pagent she has ever been in. And being a family member, I can tell you that she had all the support in the world from her family and friends, but she made it where she did all on her own. Might I also add that she has been in pagents since she was a little girl, and has worked very hard to get where she is! :)

Everybody should love her and her family! She must be the nicest person in the planet.

She had won Miss Congeniality, because she was a super nice lady. She had the award that reflects the respect and admiration of the contestant's peers, who voted for her as the most congeial, charismatic, and inspirational participant. And I agree with dodneh, Melissa had the excels in swimsuit. She also has the unique and impressive gown. Good luck Miss Wisconsin!
