XTC should ALREADY be in the Hall of Fame. So fix that next year! And just TRY to get them to play! Maybe Andy will come from England by steamship.

Impressive body of work-they really get it-rock and roll, that is.

XTC is a no-brainer. The undisputed heroes of all modern indie pop. Not a "mainstream" pick, no, but doesn't the underground deserve some props?

XTC is probably the most deserving band on this entire list. They are one of those few bands who stand out with a sound all it's own, meaningful lyrics and a sense of humor. Although not very well known, XTC has proven to be extremely influential musically with an avid and eternally loyal cult following (I am one of those fans as you see). Concluding, XTC is the best band in the history of music. Accept it.

This is the best band to Come out of northern england since the fab 4

Pop is not really represented. This won't be the band, but someone deserves to get in -- probably will be Cheap Trick.

Never achieved popular acclaim because they were always too creative for their time. Never afraid to try a new twist. Their lack of touring probably cost them millions over the last twenty years.

XTC is an incredible band and their lack of success is probably attributed to Andy Partridge's unwillingness to tour due to his stagefright issues. A great diverse catalog of music has been created by these guys. I agree 60's psychadelia buffs should check out Dukes Of Stratosphere as well as some of their other stuff which still includes a touch of that style.

Who?

i love them but XTC is a little to obscure and uneven for the Rock and ROll HOF; that said, any rock fan w/their heart somewhere in 60s rock should pick up a Cd by the Dukes of the Stratosphere which is essentially a collection of XTC working in the 1960s pop vein. very good album that'll leave you hungering for more.
