Come on folks! Let's give it up for the first female supergroup, and remember, it was not just Maybe (incidentally, one of Keith Richards' favorite group vocal harmony ballads), but also Look In My Eyes, The Plea, and Every Night, He's Gone and Eternally,among others. I wouldn't trade these singles for the Billy Joel records in the whole world. Beautiful heartfelt harmonies, led by Arlene Smith from The Bronx. A great big shame if they never make it into the Hall, and when I say that, imagine saying that about some other artist or group you favor, even if you've never heard of them, and you'll know how their fans feel. So sympathize at least. The Chantels were the real deal.
