I'm pretty strict about who I classify as a rock'n'roller... and many blues singers/players don't like the label... but by my definition Taj Mahal makes it whether he approves or not.Perhaps the hipper-than-thou crowd that rules the so-called Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should give me veto power... so tasteless mega pop rock acts [that haven't a clue who Howlin' Wolf is] don't get in.

Based on the admittedly small sample that I've heard, he's not bad at all, though I suppose if this racket they call the Rock Hall was on the level, I get the feeling he wouldn't get in...The early shortlived band he had called The Rising Sons  with Ry Cooder, Ed Cassidy, the drummer for the great and underrated Spirit, etc. must have been something to hear...

This Taj Mahal is not one of the 7 wonders of the world, although one hit wonder maybe.

Highly under-rated Blues Man since the 60s- this guy deserves his due!
