 | BugahaNE (20) 12/20/2005 | When I went to NYC I would not stay in a Helmsley hotel, I would not give this decrepid shrew a dime.

 | Mr.Political (21) 03/10/2005 | Certainly she has seemingly worked quite hard in earning her reputation as The Queen of Mean and does have an arrogance problem. In some ways, I can understand her want for having perfection in her hotels. Afterall, if I'm going to spend such a large amount of money to stay in one, I expect it to meet some critical standards. However, the extent she took it to was often cruel and indicative of her emotional bankruptcy.

 | callitdowntheline75 (73) 03/10/2005 | Though the 1980s were a great decade, Leona Helmsley was THE poster child of personal wealth AND unfathomable corruption. The vain Helmsley was also known to be a vindictive, selfish person who always treated her employees and servants with little regard and respect. Moreover, she was (like Sally Jesse Raphael) extremely self-important, demanding to be treated like royalty. Vile and pretentious, she finally got her just deserts when former employees talked about their experiences. She unquestionably deserves her notoriety.

 | CastleBee (88) 03/10/2005 | Leona certainly had an attitude problem and unfortunatly, for her underlings, the money to finance it. From all accounts she was so vile and hateful that you would suspect throwing cold water on her would make her sizzle and start to disolve while screaming, What a world, what a world...
