Satriani does actually write memorable tunes and holds back on the fretw*nking as necessary. Let's face it he's the only shredder who's achieved any real commercial success as a solo performer.

 | the icon of sin (0) 03/15/2005 | Never quite as good as his student Vai (he was surpassed by about 1990) but the album Sufring with the Alien still blows me away, and his jazz work on the self-titled album is underrated.
