At first I thought Stephen King was essentially writing a rip-off of this episode when I starting reading "The Langoliers"--until he directly referred to the episode through one of the lead characters. Very good story--will make you think twice about flying cross-country!! ;D

This is another one of the episodes that I've appreciated more with time. They did a good job portraying the nervousness of the situation, and John Anderson is good as always. However, not a whole lot really develops here. Essentially, the plane gets lost and that's about it. Decent episode, though.

This is one of the memorable TZ episodes or at least it was for me. This episode takes place on Global Airlines Flight 33, en route from London to New York City. As the flight enters the airspace of Idlewild Airport, the airplane breaks some kind of sound barrier that actually is a time warp. The crew and passengers discover that they have been thrown back in time to the age of dinosaurs. The crew decides to try to get back to 1961. The airplane goes back up and hits the warp again and now the airplane is back over New York. The crew can't raise Idlewild but raises LaGuardia Airport. LaGuardia doesn't know what or show this flight is. New York City looks different and as the flight flys over Queens, passanger and crew see the 1939 World's Fair. They didn't come far enough! The flight has enough fuel to try once more and the episode ends as the airplane starts to regain altitude so that it can hit the time warp. Serling ends with his narrative being something to the effect that if you hear an airplane circling, it might be Flight 33 trying to get home!

Another great episode. I loved the part about flying over dinosaurs. Well crafted.

Very effective piece of work, alternately eerie and classic sci-fi, with a touch of whimsy.
