why the heck would a band so small as this even be considered for the hall?

I never got this weird, late 60's Texas experimental psych band, who apparently made a comeback in the punk era as well. They have a big reputation among afficionados of the genre, but I always found them to be basically unlistenable. Kind of like Captain Beefheart, but even more nonsensical and difficult to get into, and far less musically proficient.
