Never My Love was the 2nd most played song of the 20th century according to BMI. Compared to today's pop songs the craftsmanship is extraordinary -corny or not. Pandora's Golden Heebie Jeebies is probably the deepest top 40 song in history. Enter The Young was a song that symbolized an entire generation and they led off Monterey with it. If The Mamas and the Papas and The Lovin Spoonful are in then I don't see why theses guys aren't.

There was nothing like the Association before and not since in creating music which they wrote themselves - "Cherish", "Everything that Touches You" to name but two classics written by Terry Kirkman, who could also play 24 instruments. Their music is sublime and has stood the test of time, their performances are professional and for this fan, their music, from 1966 to the present, provides a wonderful musical backdrop which does not fade. That's influence. That's talent. And if you don't believe me, check out YouTube for some of their stuff. Perhaps they're too good for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame considering some of the other influential acts who haven't made it either.

Great group, Cherish, Never My Love, Windy, Requiem for the Masses, Six Man Band, and many more. They were on the forefront in the late 1960's.

The Association deserves RRHOF consideration because of their sicnifigant contributions, Cherish, Along Comes Mary, and Never My Love. The opening guitar riff setting off the keyboard work, the lyics and the melding of harmonies and melody in Never My Love places this song as one of the very best love songs of the 60's. As finely crafted as these songs were, the Association's greates and most complex, Every Thing That Touches You, was their finest offering. Their unrivaled vocal harmonies, complex, full-thought lyrics coupled beautiful and inspirational melodies and gives the Association my vote for the RR hall.

Above average 60's top 40 band. You may say a song like Windy is corny but it's a fun pop song with very clever instrumentation. Also the Keyboards on Never My Love are intoxicating.
