O.K. I'am not a Baptist but I don't have much of a problem with saying people NEED to repent. In fact many who knock repenting needs it the most.

Being a Kansas Citian, I have attended First Baptist of Raytown and will never return for the following reasons: Paul Brooks teaches this subtle form of legalism that says you have to repent in order to be saved. Of course, he has corrupted the word repent to mean more that simply changing one's mind from not believing Christ to Believing Christ for salvation. Like with the Lordship Salvation legalists, repenting to be saved has been twisted to mean that you must forsake your sins and turn your life around to be saved. Also, Paul Brook's church says right in their bulletin that even if you have received believers baptism by emersion in another church, that you must still be baptized in First Baptist of Raytown in order to become a member of their church.

He sounds like a dangerous preacher to me - believes we are saved only by accepting Christ PLUS water Baptism. If you haven't been baptised in water, you are not saved as far as he is concerned. To bad for African countries who have dirty water or for someone who is minutes away from death. He must not have read the verse in Romans where it says, 'If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe that he was raised from the dead in your heart, you shall be saved' or John 3:16. Maybe this guy has a lot to learn if he really believes this. Next he may say that you are not a true Christian not unless you speak in tongues. I don't want to be too hard on him at the same time, because he will develop and maybe learn that he is wrong.

Great Preacher in the Kansas City area that believes in witnessing to the lost and is Pro Israel and believes in Water Baptism by Immersion as something we must do to be saved like Acts 2:38 says
