 | Demanding (0) 07/24/2005 | I consider Jeff Rense among the best talk show hosts in the business. His analytical ability and intellectual honesty and compassion is a rare quality in his line of work. I am impressed by his reasoning, logic and his courage to tell it as it is. When he presents programs or guests, in the name of political correctness, his discomfort with the topic at hand is easily recognizable by his neutral and subdued input. I am fully aware that there is little demand by the powers to be for his type of information, interpretation and reasonable views. Let me tell you something, a few years back I saw a documentary about catastrophic oil spills. It showed what looked like a brand new tanker, all in white split in halve, courtesy of an aggressive wave. How was that possible I asked myself, as the camera moved in closer and closer. I was in for an everlasting and highly educational shock of my life, where there should have been gray was brown, layers upon layers of brown, below layers upon layers of white paint. The underlying cause for the breakup of the oil tanker? You probably guessed it, that much hated four letter word I hope your guess was RUST otherwise shame on you. Lesson learned and in the most graphic way possible APPEARANCES are DECEIVING!!! Other than that, although manned by a third world crew, the tankers ownership was NOT third world and not disclosed for obvious reasons. Jeff Rense with the assistance of certain guest wants to raise the American people's awareness that the same is happening to this country and appearances are deceiving. On rare occasions he offers topics and guests that help confirm and reinforce conclusions, some of his more sophisticated listeners have reached on their own. There is a drought in quality talk shows that air in prime time on the major networks. If the talk shows and entertainment overall including sports, mirror societies demands, desires and needs, we are in trouble. Television and radio alike deliver to the most part attractively packaged what I term mental junk food. Jeff does not have a call in segment, it would demonstrate by the comments of his callers, that there is an appetite for alternative views and interpretations of the news be it national or international. I have not noticed any censorship in the voicing of opinions or comments, be it by him or his guests, a definite plus. Five stars for Jeff Rense and his rare pearls of programs that offer topics that are thought provoking for all listeners, especially the partially or misinformed. I disagreed with him on the Terri Schiavo debacle and sided with the judges. I would prefer fewer hours dedicated to UFO's, I know it sells books and videos, but it is not a bread and butter issue, not yet anyway.
Too bad no one reads this.
