This was a great decade, with one of the greatest pennant races in history (NL 1908) and some of the finer World Series as well. A lot of legends grace the diamond, from Matty to Nap to Ty to Honus. Baseball stood alone as the most popular sport in America, and faced no serious competition either for fans or for recruiting.
