I thought the battle scenes were tremendous. I have no doubt the book was both more accurate and detailed, but this is almost always the case. From just a movie fan's point-of-view it seemed very realistic.

Folks, read the book. You've seen the battle portrayed here in a movie alright...it was called Rambo, Navy Seals or Delta Force...or any other B-movie. The print version of this was way better, civilians get shot, blown up and the give and take is more brutal. I was saddened, but not surprised the truer depiction of the war was not made; most likely, this was because the US Department of Defense gave its cooperation in exchange for a rah-rah version of the battle. It's a shame, hey, if it happened, it happened, you know? It wouldn't be anti-war or anything, just a depiction of modern warfare, as the author intended it to be.
