I love this quote, and there was a time I had it on the wall behind my desk when I worked in politics.

Not all of the people I worked for appreciated it, however.

The measure of a good quote is that it burns itself into your consciousness, everything else seems like empty words. For my 2 cents worth all I'ld say is that if we are to appreciate the value of liberty then we are forever morally obliged to listen and understand what others have to say no matter how unpalatable it may feel.
