Amidst all the hoopla surrounding the unveiling of this car that was expected to change the SUV market forever (complete with large cupholders and a snazzy, comfortable interior) instead was greeted with polite applause, then gasps and guffaws, an occassional giggle and a few anonymous four-letter words, and finally eerie silence. Probably not a bad performing car, the Pontiac Aztek is quite possibly the ugliest car to have ever come out of Detroit, and so far the Ford Edsel of the 21st century (though at least the Edsels are quite collectible today).
