Read Washing of the Spears a book on the Zulu war, and you can appreciate how historically accurate is this flick.

Although this movie sometimes strikes me as being an awful lot of repetition (i.e., charge after charge after charge by the Zulus), it's probably pretty much the way the actual battle happened. An impressive film of an impressive battle.
