In the nineties, this was by far the biggest rivalry in the NFL. There is a great deal of history between these two teams. They have played in championship games in the 70's, 80's and 90's. It's not as hot today a rivalry because neither team is as good as they once were. However, as a Cowboys fan, if the 49ers are on the schedule, that's a game I have circled. Because there's nothing that's more satisfying than to beat the 49ers.

A once great rivalry that has lost some of its lustre, largely due to the fact that for the last few seasons the Niners have trouble winning a coin toss, let alone a ball-game.

Both teams aren't nearly the same as what they used to be, but they share a history of great playoff games from when they were battling for supremacy of the NFC. Each team has a history of Hall of Fame caliber players and winning Superbowls, which is a big part of making a great rivalry. If they faced each other every year, this might be the best NFL rivalry.

Classic games from the 70s, 80s, & 90s qualifies this rivalry as one of the best in NFL history.

One of the all-time great rivalries. These two teams have won more Super Bowls than anyone else and played a number of huge games to see who would go to the Super Bowl. However, in recent years, both teams have slid from the upper-escelon of the NFC and haven't played a big game in a number of years.
