I'm surprised Billy Preston isn't already in. Not just because of his stellar work on the Beatles' Let It Be, impressive though it is (not to mention the fact that his presence kept the Beatles from going round in circles). He also worked and toured with the Stones. He toured with Eric Clapton. And if that's still not enough, he had his own solo career- songs like "Space Race," "Nothing From Nothing" and "Will It Go Round In Circles." To induct Billy Preston into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is exactly the way God planned it!

Billy holds a prominent spot in music history, having played with the Beatles. If for no other reason, he's earned it for that alone.

One of the top session men ever. Played the organ on Let It Be. Played electric piano on Heartbreaker by the Stones. He has toured with just about everybody.

Some nice pop moments and street cred for keyboard work on Beatles later hits, but not deserving of inshrinement

He was known as the 5th Beatle which is quite a compliment. And he had great solo stuff like Nothing from Nothing Leaves Nothing and Will It Go Round In Circles.
