Always check for challenged spelling. If you have time to kill, look at the message source and trace the IP. (It's usually a proxy though.) (Add picture)

I actually got a variant of this a few years ago when I was using MSN to chat with my daughter when she was travelling. Suddenly this other user pops up and starts telling me about a bank error that needs to be corrected and please supply my account information.

Made me wonder if anyone is actually dumb enough to believe a bank would communicate with them via instant messenger.

These run in spurts. Sometimes you get several a day and then a dry spell. Try giving them a false SS and false info and let them waste time trying to figure it out.

Anyone else out there get these? I've ignored them all because I know where I stand with my ebay account (I collect books) but it seems that these scam-mails just won't go away. . .

Dime a dozen tactic. Insert your favorite website name here kind of thing that script-kiddies employ. Easily defeated if you use your brain and read the pivacy statement on most sites. Most say they will never ask for your password via email, etc.

A great way for hackers to get your password.

If you're going to try to scam me out of my money, at least try to spell correctly.

I think this is the most vile of all the Spam I've seen. It goes way beyond irritating. I've received them tons of times supposedly from Ebay, PayPal and WAMU bank - they even rip-off their graphics so the first time you receive one it actually looks legit. All those places mentioned above have an email address to forward this garbage so I would encourage you to do so. The addresses to send to start out with spoof@(Ebay, PayPal, WAMU or whatever).com Check their sites for more details.

These, and the ones from PayPal, are pretty sophisticated and pretty nasty. I can see old ladies falling for these (if old ladies actually used ebay and PayPal).
