I was in high school when he died. Unfortunately, aside from "Chantilly Lace," I can't think of anything else that J. P. Richardson did. He was good on the tour, however.

Maybe a special category could exist for those who, apart from tragedy, would have made it.

One of three from "The Day The Music Died". He, along with Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens fell victim to a plane crash. The trip was supposed to include Waylon Jennings instead of The Big Bopper. Sentiments aside, I don't see it.

No way. Ritchie Valens was Buddy Holly's opening act, and he's one of the Hall's least deserving current members. Now someone wants to induct Ritchie Valens opening act? Wow.
