Amazon.com's review of "Days of Future Passed": The Moody Blues' second album was also their first of what would be a succession of "concept" albums. Inspired by the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper and utilizing the London Festival Orchestra primarily for epic instrumental interludes between songs, Days of Future Passed moved the Birmingham band away from its early R&B roots into uncharted rock territory, making them the early pioneers of both classical and progressive rock. Another band that is underrated. They have great songs and the music on this album is awesome.

THE concept album. Makes most of the others sound like they were put together by 3 year olds.

Even a strong dose of lysergic couldn't make this pretentious drone of an album sound noteworthy. This was,and still is, phony rock for fake people.

Probably their best album, less filler than most, maybe all of their discs. A concept album with songs about time and apparently supposed to take place in a day or something. One of the earliest concept albums, and not only a big record in the hippie era, but a foundational one for the subgenres of progressive and classical rock.
