He was pugnacious as hell and could have beaten the North if he had had an equivalency in manpower and industrial capacity. His greatest triumph was at Chancelorsville. His most revealing moment was at Gettysburg when he apologized to the surviving Virginians after Pickett's Charge. His most honorable moment was at Appomattox. There will never be another like him.
