While this is not the case for most people, it is common for the thrill of battle and the threat of death to create feelings of commaraderie and excitement that are rare in everyday life. Notable apologists for the pleasures of war include Ernest Junger (Storm of Steel), Patton, and (as others have noted) the quote by Genghis Khan on this list, which might be titled 'The Joys of Barbarism'.
