Boo! Bierce might have gotten his chance to meet pirates in Mexico when he disappeared. Pirates take by force of arms and murderous intent.

Business may have its pirates, methaphorically, but I defy anyone to show me a business transaction completed by force.

Force makes it robbery, and no other definition is possible!
