I agree with irishgit, not guilty does not necessarily means innocent. Our judiciary system has become so complexly manipulated that an endless trail of technicalities can declare even Hitler not guilty. It suck, but then, what else is new in our judiciary?

Say it after me one more time. Not guilty in law does not mean you didn't do it. I've sat on a jury, in a 10 week first degree murder trial and I know the decision you make isn't as simple as the media and the public makes it. To me, OJ was about the power of money, not about the effect of race. (And since your interests are probably aroused: in my trial, we acquitted, because the prosecution couldn't remove reasonable doubt. But most of us thought he probably did it. Beat me up for that as you like, but I, like most of us, believe in the rule of law over emotion)

I seriously doubt his innocence. That trial was nothing but a smokescreen anyway. What a circus!

the grief that is displayed from those that claim innocence for those they claimed to love always seems to be nonexistent. guilty!

He was so guilty!

Problems with the court system in America today, Judges who use their position to push an agenda rather than the letter of law, Idiots being allowed to serve on a jury, District Attorney's who couldn't win a case in traffic court trying a murder case and last but not least, people willing to sit back and excuse the whole thing with well its because of all the past things that have happend against blacks....... or well nobody actually SAW him do it and my favorite I just can't believe he would do something like that

Some people say the OJ trial illustrates reverse racism in the American legal system. I see things more broadly. To me, the case illustrates how an expensive legal dream team can too easily buy most anyone freedom regardless of how steep the evidence seems to bury that client. Slick legal teams will always find some way to manipulate everyone's sensitivities and eventually sow enough seeds of doubt. If you have very weak representation, you will go to jail much faster than someone with endless resources whose tireless legal staff wears down the opposition. This is a major shortcoming in our justice system, and the OJ case should have gotten us closer to addressing the unfairness.

What disturbs me greatly when I hear O.J supporters tell me why he's innocent is that they don't seem to care at all about the overwhelming evidence stacked against him. All they do seem to care about is that a black man got a break. To that I ask, what break are they referring to? Afterall, isn't he innocent?

As close to 100% sure as possible without actually having it on video tape.Update:Very well put Lance!Isn't it funny how Jar Jar is the only one who rates less than 3?

Everybody knows this. The searching for the real killers is pathetic. I doubt they play much golf, anyways.
LanceRoxas 03/31/2005
Oh please! People have been convicted with 99% less evidence. For crying out loud her DNA was found in his socks, his shoes size 15 Bruno Maglia's were tracked through her and Ronald Goldman's at the crime scene, he had cuts on his hand, her DNA was in his car... his blood (and DNA) was left at the crime scene... of two bloody gloves found with the crime scene DNA on them one was found at the crime scene and lo' AND BEHOLD the other ends up at OJ's HOUSE!! He has no alibi for the time of murders.... had a history of abusing his spouse. Oh and the car chase was just an innocent man running from a crime he didn't commit of course. It's absolutely shameful that only urban blacks continually argue for his innocents in high percentages- if it was her that killed him and his girlfriend and all the evidence was exactly the same we'd be hearing how racist America is that blacks never get justice.

Duh! Ya think?
Vudija 03/30/2005
There is, and never was, a doubt in my mind that the man was guilty. There was far too much evidence against him for people to say, without a doubt, that he's innocent.
CanadaSucks 03/30/2005
People that think he's innocent have some cause or belief, but they don't know the scientific certainty of blood evidence and DNA. The case was more lost on the part of the prosecution than won by the defense. Not Guilty is a far cry from being innocent.
EschewObfuscat ion 03/30/2005
I draw this distinction: OJ IS guilty.
Jar-Jar Binks 03/30/2005
Nope, Judge Lance Ito said that he's not guilty. So we have to assume that O.J. is innocent of all charges. If he were guilty, he'd be in the slammers right now.
