Spike Lee was once an influential filmmaker who directed though-provoking movies such as Jungle Fever and Malcolm X, but has since become an irrelevant figure in much of society. In an attempt to get some respect (but from who?) and influence back, this obvious publicity-seeking wannabe tries to take on the more infinitely superior director, Clint Eastwood, by raising the race card conveniently and trying to instigate the legend in the process. But what Lee fails to uinderstand is that most level-headed people know he is just trying to seek some publicity, and that aside from his embarrassing courtside antics at high-profile NBA games (in a vain, gawdy attempt to get some much-need attention), he has not accomplished much since his early-1990's success. Lee should stop being the perpetual pot calling the kettle black, and do something useful instead of being a nuisance and an increasingly embarrassing grandstander.

You remember those timeless classics She Hate Me, Girl6, Get On The Bus, Crooklyn and how could anyone ever forget, Mo' Better Blues? Can't wait for his documentary on how Bush killed all of the blacks in New Orleans! Get a clue Spike! It must be the shoes.

Underrated but my favorite filmmaker. His films present a uniquely American experience. Not only does he get the best talent (Denzel Washington, Edward Norton, Danny Aiello, Philip Seymour Hoffman, etc.), he gets great performances from these cinematic luminaries. Love him or hate (especially his politics) him , two things must be admitted: 1) He is phenomenally talented, and 2) he has never made a boring movie.
