The second one lacked the meaning of the first one. The first movie followed the book better and was scarier by suggestion.

I haven't seen the second one, but good grief; a writing crew of slow chimps could put together a better film than the first. Unfortunatley, the subject matter leaves much to be desired. Don't get me wrong; no one enjoys a good ghost story more than I. But, not when it's being passed off as something it's not. The real story here is how the family pulled off this way over the top fake out. That's the horror they should have concentrated on.
