Sioux or Lakota Indian warrior prominent now in retrospect. He fought in several battles and skirmishes, the last being the Battle of Slim Buttes, January 18, 1877, in what is now South Dakota. He surrendered and lived at Fort Robinson, Nebraska. He had conflicts with Red Cloud and Spotted Tail, two more famous and powerful Lakota leaders. Crazy Horse partisans state today, in good old revisionist history style, that the two great Indian chieftains conspired against Crazy Horse and set him up. Well you can read the neutral accounts for yourself, if you desire, but that is not true. The army decided to place Crazy Horse under a stronger guard, a fracas broke out, and he was wounded by a bayonet and later died of the wound.
